For the third consecutive year the USTA Foundation, the national charitable organization of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), has partnered with longtime US Open sponsor JPMorgan Chase & Co. to award the Houston Tennis Association National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) chapter and nine other NJTL chapters across the country with $10,000 each to go toward year-round tennis and education programming.
A $10,000 check was presented to the HTA at Memorial Park Tennis Center by Julia Cheney of JPMorgan Chase, while 200 HTA NJTL youngsters participated in tennis drills, ACE (Academic, Creative, Engagement) activities and a dance contest.
HTA’s Executive Director Cheryl Hultquist Horvath, who accepted the check for the HTA, observed, “The Houston Tennis Association greatly appreciates JPMorgan Chase’s contribution to HTA NJTL, which offers free youth tennis and education classes at more than 60 neighborhood park sites and schools in collaboration with the Houston Parks & Recreation Department.”
