PR Byline:
The new website and social media of the Houston Tennis Association will improve access and engagement.

PR Body:

HTA’s redesigned website, houstontennis.org, offers a more user-friendly experience, featuring simplified navigation, updated league and tournament information. Whether users are seeking schedules, standings, or scholarship details, the updated platform is designed to be clear and responsive across devices.

“Modernizing our digital presence allows us to better serve our players and supporters,” said Caroline Champion, President of HTA. “We’ve taken feedback from the community into account to improve the way people engage with us online. Our goal is to make sure that everything from signing up for a league to learning about NJTL programs is just a few clicks away.”

The rebrand also includes updated social media accounts across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/X. These platforms will provide real-time updates, event highlights, player spotlights, and announcements. HTA encourages players, parents, and volunteers to follow these accounts to stay informed and connected with the broader tennis community in Houston.

Since its founding in 1952, the Houston Tennis Association has served the Greater Houston area by organizing and promoting amateur tennis while supporting charitable programs. HTA offers competitive opportunities for juniors, adults, seniors, and adaptive players, and runs United States Tennis Association (USTA)-sanctioned leagues and tournaments in the region. Some of the elite partners of HTA include USTA Texas, USTA Foundation, Tennis Express, RBC Wealth Management, and Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship.

In addition to competitive play, HTA’s mission includes growing the game through education and outreach. Each year, more than 5,000 children participate in the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) program, a free or low-cost youth development initiative that combines tennis instruction with academic and life-skills support. The program, originally co-founded by Arthur Ashe, remains central to HTA’s commitment to accessible tennis programming in underserved communities.

More than 10,000 players take part in HTA’s leagues and tournaments annually, and the organization continues to operate with a focus on inclusivity, sportsmanship, and community development. The new website and branding effort are intended to support these values by improving communication and expanding the association’s digital reach.

Emily Schaefer, HTA Executive Director, remarked, “HTA has launched a new logo that I’m excited was approved by the board. It is an updated, sleek design that reflects Houston Tennis as a community tennis association and its goal of offering a comprehensive tennis pathway.”

“Our history is important, but so is adapting to how people interact with organizations today,” said Kristel Lynch, Social Media and Marketing Manager for HTA.. “We want HTA to feel approachable, informative, and relevant—both on the court and online.”

As HTA looks ahead, the rebrand marks a step toward greater visibility and engagement. With clearer access to information, streamlined signups, and more regular online communication, the association hopes to encourage more Houstonians to get involved—whether as players, parents, volunteers, or supporters.
