Tracy Austin, winner of three Grand Slams and former No. 1 women’s player in the world, will be the guest speaker at the  Game Set Match Gala and Tennis Fashion Show Friday, February 8, at the Royal Sonesta Houston  Galleria, 2222 W. Loop South.

HTA and Tennis Express will present the event, which raises funds to support the HTA National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) youth development programs providing free tennis and educational classes and scholarship opportunities.

More than 6,000 students ages 4 to 18 are served each year at over 60 Houston area neighborhood parks and schools.

Thurmun and Lilly Andress are honorary chairs of this eighth annual event.  Lara Lehmann is the gala chair. KTRK-TV’s Miya Shay will emcee the program.

Since 1979, Austin has been the youngest US Open female singles champion in history (at age 16) and the youngest inductee of all time at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.  Austin won singles titles on all playing surfaces (both red and green clay, indoor carpet, grass and hard courts).

Today she stays involved in tennis by providing television commentary at major events while raising three boys with Scott Holt, her husband of 25 years.

Tickets to the evening, which begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 6:30 p.m., followed by the dinner and tennis fashion show, begin at $150 for individuals.  Sponsorship tables are available from $2,000 to $20,000.
